TWO STARS AND A MOON-21

“What now?” Preeti was horrified.

“A simple twist.”

“Twist? Are you out of your mind?”

“Nope. I just got it in the right place.”

“Seriously! Where are we going?” She asked me in a frantic tone as we rushed down a steep staircase that led us to the underground of the movie hall.

There were many shops in row like goods shop, novelty shop, icecream parlors and some places selling lots of chocolates. I searched down till my eyes found a small eatery place. I yanked her with me while she wriggled in my tight hold on her wrist. I loosened my hold a bit but never left her.

“Ava! Don’t be a child. Where are you going?”

“To where he can’t stalk us displaying his ridiculous cleverness.”

“Really I didn’t tell him anything. He is waiting there on his own. In fact I also thought that he would have gone.”

“We will see.” I said. The sky was turning its tone to orange as I passed through a open space above the moss embraced brick boundary encircling the whole building.
The small restaurant like place looked old and the bright red paint was half peeled from its facade revealing the scratchy bare back. There was something written in yellow on it that was supposed to be its name. But it took me longer than usual. I give up and pushed the pressed-wooden door into it.

The inside lacked brightness and the air needed some purification. I instantly felt out of breath in the viscous murky air. But it didn’t matter when the thought of winning the challenge crossed my mind.

We took a seat near to the serving bar. A lanky boy looked up from behind of it and staggered to us with a menu in hand. It took ages to him to reach to our table and lay down the menu. It felt as if we were watching a slow motion movie.

“Two soft drinks.” I said as soon as he put down the menu. “Anything of that you have.” I ordered before he opened his mouth. He returned back at the same speed.
As soon as he left, I quickly pulled out the phone and texted Madhav. “We left 4 hom. U cn also.”

Exactly after thirty seconds, my phone beeped. “I’m waiting here till u com bck. Enjy ur mvi. Dnt wrry i nt gttn bored here.”

Not bored! Huh! Tough Guy! Let’s see.

Our drink arrived as I typed another message. “As u wish. Doesnt mttr 2 us.” I had written me in place of us before but then again I didn’t want to show him that he had any affect on me. So I stayed along with us.

Preeti sat slouching on my side. I thought she wanted to bang her head for being with me. But she also knew how randomly stubborn I could get sometimes.
This time it took double the time earlier it had and it came as whole rings. I picked up the call. “Where are you?” Madhav’s voice came from the receiver. He sounded playful as well as concerned.

But why isn’t he annoyed! I dragged him to here, left in middle and now telling that I sneak out to home. Still he is so calm! I wanted to pull my hair. No! Wait! Why to torture my hair more. They are already ruined.

“It’s not your business. You go home.”

There was some whispery noise like he was simpering. “I hope you are not hiding in washroom and I really wish to see Preeti fine. Hope you haven’t drugged her.”
“Can you be more irritating or this is your level? Why don’t you stop stalking and leave us on our own. We don’t any baby sitter.”

“Yeah! Just that you girls came with me and now it’s my duty to drop you home safely.” There was a depth in his words that blew me out of proportion.

“Oh! great then. You wait. Wait till the mid-night show ends. What to me!”
He laughed highly this time emptying his stomach.

Am I this funny! The whole life I haven’t been able to successfully crack a single joke without embarrassing me and this guy is laughing over my each and every sentence. What’s the matter with him? Is he even okay?

“What’s so funny in there?”

“Ah! You sound so desperate. You running away from me such like I’m some bounty hunter.”

“Well. We are not running away from me.” I stammered. It was a lie. Of course we were. In fact it’s me hiding away from him.

“Yes. You are. Or else why would you have left movie in the interval? Knowing that I was waiting for you outside the whole time, you couldn’t keep yourself from falling for me.”

I wanted to give a solid excuse this time to end this discussion and convince him that he has no effect on me. I took a pause and creep back into mind digging for some excuse. When I got my conscious back, the two chairs on the other end of our table were pulled with a loud noise.

I looked up at the hands those dragged the seats. They were big and rough hands with back of it matted with thick hair. One of them had nasty curls grooming out in every direction and another had long sleek hair oiled back into a ponytail. They both donned French moustache and wore black sleeveless jackets.

I stared at them agape while they both took the place without even caring to ask us. The worse thing was that I had forgot that Madhav was still on line and the worst was that my new-found excuse was somewhere dissolved in shock.

“Ava! Ava! You there?” Madhav repeated from other side.

“Yeah. Just leave us.You go home. Bye.” I hung up the call awkwardly.

I looked around the place. There another five tables except us divided into two rows and all were unoccupied. The bony waiter was cleaning the cabinets and counter in his speed. My gaze slowly reverted to Preeti. She also looked same in shocked as me.

“Hey..hey you there..”I fidgeted with my own words. Everything seemed wrong at that moment. “Here is your money. We are leaving.” The waiter kept wiping the cabinet without a single flinch as if our words were inaudible. But they weren’t. Obviously the place was too small for that possibility.

I placed twice the price of the cokes and we slowly stepped out from under the table without having any eye contact with the thugs sitting before us.

All of sudden the guy with unrulier curls curled up into a loud grin showing his black rooted teeth. It was so menacing that it got impossible to avoid. I looked back. “Hey. Madamji..you left your money here.”

I fought with my vocabulary to say something. Dread was evidently clouded my senses and I knew that they could see it in my eyes. I stuttered involuntarily. “The money..bill..paid for it...”

“This much?” He mimicked of being very generous and helping and righteous.
“The bi..coke and ..tips..waiter.”

“He asked you tips?” He behaved as if tipping was illegal. Like Preeti the long haired man was also silent observant all that was going on.

“Oye Chotu. Come here.” He roared.

“Yes bhaiji.” He started to limp from the bar.

“Oye! How much time do you need to come here? Come fast.”

“Not..not he asked us. I gave him.” I spoke again resenting and cursing why Preeti isn’t saying anything. I glanced at her. Heavy pulses were clearly escalating through her throat and loud breaths were audible to me. I just prayed they are not audible to them at least like they were to me.

I need to be strong. I muttered under breath. Strong!

As Chotu, the waiter entered into scene, he slapped at the top Chotu’s head. “Don’t you know how to behave with Madams? How many times I have told not to ask extra tips from them?” Again there was another flip on Chotu’s small head. Chotu kept folding his hands over head in defence while the guy yanked him down with the collar.

“Now leave and bring us two.” He barked to him again along with crossing his legs outstretched on the table and comfortably craning himself in the chair.  Chotu left us. There was evilness in those brooding gaze that scanned along the length of our body. His accent didn’t match our place. So he wasn’t from around. But does it matter whether he is from here or from Mars! Well, it doesn’t.

I looked all around and at my watch in the last. It was just fifteen minutes past interval. There was still around forty-five minutes of the movie to end. After that only anyone could be expected here.

“Madamji, Why are standing there? Come over. Sit here. Look! You haven’t even touched your drinks.” He said to us. It sounded more like undeniable commands.
Immediately he added again. “Don’t be scared. We are not bad people. We won’t do anything. Come. Come. Sit here.”

My legs felt numb along with my brain. I was blank and couldn’t think what I should do. Should I run? Should I shout? But they haven’t done anything till now for which I should scream. But it was clearly known that there was something dangerous waiting to happen.

I prayed under breath, prayed to get some courage, at least enough courage not to pass out before them. Or send someone, anyone to just interfere into this cumbersome situation. Oh! No! No friend of them. At least I don’t want to be outnumbered. Again does it matter! Nope. Seeing their thumping size, even one is enough to handle both of us.

Suddenly the long haired guy moved on to his feet and motioned towards us. His dark gaze was invariant at us. I started to shiver. Shiver. Shudder. Rattle. Crumble. Melting. Closed my eyes. And endless Silence!

3. Answer the questions the blogger has asked you in the post you have been nominated.
·                     Why did you start blogging?
There was a time when I was highly frustrated with myself. I wanted to pour out all my words and ventilate my emotions with it. I randomly registered a blog space around two years ago but then I had no idea what to write. It laid there indolently for more than a year. Now it’s been just three months that I took blogging seriously.
·                     You are getting an all expenses paid trip for two to a place of your choice? Where will it be and with whom?
Don’t know! I’ll decide when I get that offer! I think it will be something like isolated islands- marvellously exotic and lapped in nature.
With my mom or if by then I have a boyfriend, then with him.
·                     Dog or cat? And why?
Dog! They give you security with selfless affection. And I’m a dog lover too. I trust them more than human.
·                     Half a million dollars for slogging for 6 months year or a week’s peace on the beaches of Bahamas?
Slogging for 6 months sounds pathetic but half a million dollars is no less than an endless holiday! I’ll think that I’m having some internship under some retard cynical boss for a while!
·                     What is your deepest fear?
           To get emotionally exploited!
·                     How did you propose your girl/guy? Or how you plan to do so?
I need him to propose. I can’t do it no matter what happens. I’m very shy in this matter.
·                     One ‘Ctrl + Z’ moment of your life? Something you want to undo if you had a choice?
There are many. But I consider them as lessons.
·                     Who is the most ‘marriage-able’ celebrity?
Robert Pattinson (undoubtedly!). I mean he is so gentle, caring, loving and generous. I can’t never get enough of it. And after that he pardoned Kristen for bitching, my respect for him doubled up.(also the crave to get him!)
·                     One thing that can take you to the ultimate heights of fame?
Faith! You need to have faith on yourself and on your talent.
·                     Do you follow any sports, team, club or a person? Why this love started?
I’m a die-hard Twilight fan. So follow everything that is related to Twilight.

TWO STARS AND A MOON…so far

source-Google image
Now that somehow my series “Two stars and a moon” has reached it’s 20th step, on this occasion I have some words to interrupt with. At first I’ll thank all the lovely people who took out time to read, nurture and encourage the story to wheel this far. Seriously it’s never me who wrote this. This was your love and affection which spurred me to write 34,730 words (yes! Never thought so). Each and every word of it is truly dedicated to you pals! And I hold you guys totally responsible for propelling me and embroiling you into this ordeal(Don’t take it literally!). So don’t get any wrong notion that it’s my good adieu speech(I’m just thanking you out of curtsy).

I hope you will keep enjoying as this series snowballs into another 10 steps (as I have poorly planned) and I have more evil thoughts to get more thrilling twists and turns making the story more sizzling, twirling, breathtaking and more entertaining than past ones.

With some lazy/busy peoples’ request who couldn’t get a few minutes to read the earlier posts (I’m not so happy with you! loathing!) I have tried to jot down the story by far into snippets. The ones who missed those, it’s like a dessert treat, two puffs of vanilla on steaming cup of coffee. And the ones who have read each, it is to refresh all that your mind have forgotten (I know it’s pathetically long and I love you all irrevocably for sticking with it  :-* ).

Main Characters:
Avanjali a.k.a Ava- The leading girl around who the story has been weaving intricately. Sweet, simple, sincere, loving, sensitive and a bit clumsy too.

Arnav- He is the dazzling guy with enticing smile and seducing gaze that speaks thousand words with pursed lips. He is Mr.popular in swapping the Mr.Fresher title in college fest with his attitude and intelligence. In no time he became a throbbing heartbeat of  the girls winning the inter college basketball match. Sober, decent, coy, helping, caring, sensitive and not to mention deliciously handsome.

Madhav a.k.a Maddy- He is the guitar guy carrying the aura of mystery and stardust sprinkled all over him. His speculative entry into scene in the mid-sem notched him high into college gossip board. He soon became the new guy despoiling all the soaring popularity of Arnav giving him a tough competition. With an endless queue of crazy female of him, he is the one decoying everyone with his dark and mysterious charm. A stage persona, alluring, magnetic and still a bundle of mystery to solve especially for Ava.

Preeti- Best friend of Ava who shared everything with Ava since childhood (I meant everything not everyone). She was always a company and savior for Ava. Happy-go-lucky, rattling with endless energy, lively, sparking, fashionista who makes it tough to ignore and a genuine friend of Ava, like joined at hips.

Manishaa- The hot chick of college or a bitch according to Preeti. Stroll around with a flock of chicks show her tight clothes, mostly using her tiny brain only to snare boys with her batting eyes. With the advantage of lots of donation to college, she was the trophy student in college. A bitchy bitch, unwanted bum-ache  and Arnav’s current girlfriend.

Story so far:
The story begins as Ava and Preeti got to the same college for their graduation as they did for the whole lifetime. Their friendship included sharing, caring and loving lengthened to forever. The bonding was more like sisters than friends. Starting from the seats in the class to icecream and cheesy secrets, they shared everything.

Preeti was more extrovert kind while Ava always found it hard to mingle. On the first day after introductory class Preeti went on to chit-chat with other new classmates while Ava was left alone. Not that Preeti couldn’t drag Ava with her; it’s that she knew Ava well.

That’s when Ava noticed Arnav in the crowd, standing in a group of boys far in a corner, but noticeably left out of the conversation. It’s been a love at first sight, a notion that was only Preeti’s until it became Ava’s addiction. She was forlornly in the cupid’s trap.

But not that this string of attraction was one sided. The infatuation grew into fondling, innocent love with unavoidable cues from Arnav too. The way he looked at her, that left Ava tore into pieces, bare and vulnerable. Adding to that the facebook chattings and a short rendezvous in a street end cafeteria was like oil on fire.  The more tests she put him into, the more tormented Ava was as Arnav did more than her expectation. The game of stealing glances grew more alarming. They could feel the undeniable attraction for each other evidently but didn’t speak of it a long time. The despicable silence between them bewildered Ava more, making her heart restlessly think about Arnav.  It was like each and every part of her craved on Arnav’s name.

Finally there was this moment of confession arrived. After winning Mr.Fresher’s title in the college, Ava was invited to Arnav’s party. Even though she was no way connected to it, as only Arnav’s close friends and Manishaa, who won the Ms. Freshers title were the ones on the card, still he invited her and insisted on her coming with more than usual curtesy. Both were dying to speak, let their emotions be defined, but their fate wasn’t ready yet. It was devilish and beguilingly waiting for a hellish twist.

Just the day before party, Ava had to leave the town with her family without sparing any time to think or consider. The trip was unplanned, hastily done for an unknown period of time. She was stuck at a far away village, where no mobile network was available unless you climb on a coconut tree and no road without cow dung.

When Ava returned home, the scenario was changed. Arnav was miraculously Manishaa’s boyfriend over night. It left Ava agonized with lots of impalpable questions probing her. She was shattered to core, hindered for herself, lost all the confidence. It became impossible for her to even breathe without thinking about Arnav. Her feeling grew more intense now, multiplied with despair and disbelieve. She banned herself form anything or anyone and locked down herself in a room worrying everyone around her. And finally after some days of self-sabotaging, she made a decision; a decision to end everything by ending her.

She took out the blade, running it over her bare flesh, cut along her wrists, when Preeti appeared magically as some demigod on her door, saving her from the debacle. The injury was not severe and didn’t took much time to recover. She was saved and salvaged with time and gradually realized the value of life; though she curtailed herself to Preeti and her family members only.

But life is not always the same we want it to be. Sometimes we find ourselves before an unexpected turn. And in Ava’s life Maddy was that turn. As a new student in the mid-semester, he was introduced singing and playing guitar on the stage in their college Annual function. What made him fall for Ava, it is still a secret. But he did. And he did also confessed in an outwardly romantic manner that any girl would die to have. In a beautiful arrangement, a romantic direct proposal, with flower on knee, glowing in the candlelight, he did everything that more than enough to make a girl loose her sense. But Ava was just a bundle of flesh and bone without any emotion left for anyone. Her heart was brutally broken and she was fighting hard to give it a mind. After believing once she couldn’t believe on anyone. She didn’t believe in love anymore blaming it to be another affectation.

But Maddy was also as much stubborn as Ava was. And the bonus was Preeti barged on Maddy’s side. Ava was alone this time. So she made a plan to end everything for once and all. She wanted to put Maddy into tryouts from which Maddy will never success, at least that’s what Ava planned.

Now he will or not, it’s still to be unrevealed. Whether he will make Ava fall for him, buy her to for his emotions or he will fail and as per the stipulation will never show his face to her.

Did I miss anything??? Hell! Yes! I did miss a lot, a lot that I failed to squeeze into this summary. All the fun moments, tricks and pranks in class, those exchanging glance soaring mercury in the air, all those cupid-stuck scenes of Ava and Anvav, those breath taking moments when Ava was to end her life and the words of Maddy on knee before Ava that will make you believe in love again. For that you need to dig into the whole series.

Why to read it further:
I know there were some points in the story where you will be dragged to yawn. Believe me! It’s really hard confess before all that it is not so good as you guys expect and harder to keep the pace and keep people engrossed in your story. I’m a total newbie in it. I’m still climbing the hill.  For that I wholeheartedly thank to all who were besides me with every step, held me whenever I tumbled, gave me a tough lesson and encouraged me to do so.

But I’m learning and weaving the further words more carefully working hard on it. In further more posts you will be introduced many words like drugs, death, trap, revenge, plots, conspiracy and a race to save life and love. And also not to mention lots and lots of endearing moments that you won’t want to miss.

The below given links will take you directly to my story. Love, enjoy and cherish.
